My team has consistent expectations around formative and summative feedback.
As a department, there is a consistent approach to feedback, assessment, and standards. In addition, there is a clear overview of how students are assessed across courses and students can easily access rubrics and documents that explain learning expectations.

Variation among assessments
Assess students via a variety of assessment forms. There is no perfect test or assessment type. However, offering students a variety of ways to show their understanding and their progress can enrich your course and provide a more comprehensive view of student progress. For example, instead of a written exam, consider letting students show achievement of the learning goals via a presentation or the critique of a design product.
